“Millennium Actress” and “Paprika” are anime films directed by Satoshi Kon with soundtracks by Susumu Hirasawa. I’m a huge fan, so I took the opportunity to create a couple of phrases featuring some of my favorite tracks from each film. One ended up being of a wonderfully childish language, and the other was pure cardio and fun.
While I was in Vienna I went to the opera A LOT, so something had to give. The utterly insane opera Salome by Strauss provided the backdrop for this other phrase, a nearly theatrical piece that very much draws directly from the original plot.
